Welcome to your yearly guide to the most popular and beloved events across Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca, and Nicosia. This list highlights the major festivals and cultural celebrations that take place every year, giving both locals and visitors something to look forward to.

JANUARY
Epiphany Celebrations (All Cyprus – Jan 6)A major religious and cultural celebration marking the blessing of the waters. Expect seaside ceremonies, traditional music, markets, and lively crowds in Paphos Harbour, Limassol Marina, and Larnaca Promenade.

FEBRUARY / MARCH 
Limassol Carnival (Late Feb – Early Mar) Cyprus’s biggest street party! Ten days of parades, costumes, masquerade balls, children’s events, live music, and traditional celebrations throughout Limassol.
Green Monday (Start of Lent) Celebrated across Cyprus with outdoor picnics, kite-flying, and community gatherings.

APRIL
Easter Week (All Cyprus)
The biggest holiday period in Cyprus. Villages hold processions, bonfires, fireworks, feasts, and beautiful church ceremonies. One of the best times to visit for culture lovers.

MAY
Anthestiria Flower Festival (Paphos, Larnaca, Limassol) 
A vibrant festival celebrating spring with flower parades, market stalls, plant exhibitions, and colourful displays along seafront promenades.
European Music Day (June 21, celebrated early in some cities) 
Free concerts, local bands, and cultural performances spread across town squares, especially in Nicosia and Limassol.
Pharos Chamber Music Festival (Paphos & Kouklia) 
World-class concerts in historic venues, ideal for classical music lovers.
Limassol Boat Show (Limassol Marina – Late May)
A popular event showcasing yachts, marine equipment, water sports demos, and entertainment at the marina.

JUNE
Kataklysmos – Festival of the Flood (Primarily Larnaca, also Paphos & Limassol) 
A huge seaside festival with boat races, concerts, traditional dancing, food stalls, crafts, and fireworks. Larnaca hosts the largest celebration.

JULY
United Street Festival (Nicosia) An energetic urban festival featuring street performances, graffiti art, DJs, workshops, fashion pop-ups, and food trucks.
Summer Concerts & Outdoor Theatre (All Cyprus) 
Most towns host weekly free or low-cost cultural evenings — opera, jazz, choirs, children’s theatre, and film screenings in open-air courtyards.

AUGUST
Paphos Beer Festival (Early August)
Four nights of craft beers, live music, DJs, street food, and a lively crowd at Paphos Harbour.
Pissouri Village Cultural Nights
Weekly summer evenings featuring live Greek music, dancing, food stalls, and local wine in Pissouri Square.

SEPTEMBER
Geroskipou Loukoumi Festival (End of September)A sweet celebration of the island’s beloved loukoumi. Includes tastings, folk dancing, handmade crafts, and entertainment for all ages.
Larnaca Summer Festival (July–Sept)
A long-running arts festival with local and international performances: theatre, dance, film, and live music.

OCTOBER
Limassol Wine Festival (Late September–Early October)
One of Cyprus’s most iconic festivals. Enjoy wine tastings, food stalls, dancing, live music, grape-stomping, and a festive atmosphere in Limassol’s Municipal Gardens.
Commandaria Festival (Troodos & Limassol Villages)
A celebration of the world’s oldest named wine. Includes tastings, traditional music, vineyard tours, and cultural exhibitions.

NOVEMBER
Forest Festival (Troodos Area)
A celebration of Cyprus’s mountain culture with nature walks, mushroom hunting, artisan stalls, wine, and traditional foods.
Paphos City Arts Season
Art exhibitions, classical music concerts, film nights, and cultural events held through the autumn.

DECEMBER
Christmas Villages (Paphos, Polis, Platres, Larnaca, and Nicosia Area)
Beautiful festive markets with lights, mulled wine, crafts, local food, children’s workshops, Santas, and holiday shows.
New Year’s Celebrations (All Cities)
Fireworks, concerts, street parties, and family gatherings welcome the new year.

Strolling Around Paphos Town Centre (Ktima)

 To help visitors discover Pafos Town Centre (Ktima)—the historical heart of modern Paphos—the Paphos Municipality invites everyone to explore this vibrant and often misunderstood area. Although many see it simply as a shopping district, Ktima offers a rich blend of culture, history, and everyday local life.
About the Walking Tour The walking tour “Strolling Around Paphos Town Centre (Ktima)” offers a complete overview of how the area evolved from late Byzantine and Medieval times into what locals traditionally called Ktima.
Through engaging historical references spanning the Medieval, Ottoman, British, and modern eras, participants can step back in time while also gaining insight into the commercial and social heart of Paphos. For local Pafians, Ktima has always been much more than a marketplace—and this tour reveals why.

Tsiknopempti - Grilling day or Meat Day

 Tsiknopempti
If you know Cypriots, you know their love for grilling runs deep—so it’s no surprise that Tsiknopempti is one of the most anticipated days of the year. Celebrated on a Thursday during the Carnival period, it marks the start of the final week in which Greek Orthodox Christians can enjoy meat before Lent. On this day, the air is filled with the irresistible aroma of barbecues as families, friends, and entire neighbourhoods fire up their grills.
The name Tsiknopempti comes from the word “tsikna,” referring to the delicious smell of cooked meat that fills the streets. In Cyprus, it’s also known as “sikoses,” from the Greek verb sikono, meaning “I rise,” symbolising the lively spirit and festive mood of the day.
