Yiannakis Beach

Yiannakis Beach is located in Neo Chorio, near Polis and Latchi, on the edge of the Akamas Peninsula in the Paphos District. I would describe this beach as a hidden gem. It is much more lowkey than most other beaches you will find in Cyprus, but I think this is one of the reasons it stands out. A lot of people come here for that reason because it is a great place to relax.
It is not too loud and it is not overcrowded, so you get a much more peaceful and secluded experience than you would at many other beaches.

Another thing that makes this beach a great place to relax is how beautiful the scenery is. You have natural mountain scenery, clear blue water and the hills of the Akamas Peninsula in the background. The beach itself is on the smaller side, but I think that also adds to the calm atmosphere and natural feel of the area. The beach is mostly made up of small pebbles rather than soft sand, which also adds to its more natural feel.

Once you get into the water, you will realize just how clear and calm it is. You can see a lot of fish swimming around, so if you are interested in snorkeling, this is a great beach for it. The water is also a nice place to cool off if you are spending a few hours here.

The beach also has basic facilities, including sunbeds, umbrellas, toilets and showers, so you have what you need if you want to spend a few hours here. If you’re looking for something to eat or drink before or after you spend some time on the beach, there is a restaurant right on the beach called Kalyva Yiannakis Beach Restaurant, which is a fish tavern. Its location makes it really convenient to get food without having to get back in your car. There is also free parking very close to the beach with a lot of spaces.

If you are planning a day trip to the Polis area, there is also lots to do nearby. Yiannakis Beach is very close to Latchi, where you can find the marina, restaurants and boat trips, such as trips to the Blue Lagoon and the Akamas Peninsula. The Baths of Aphrodite are also nearby, along with hiking trails around the Akamas Peninsula. If you are spending the day exploring this part of Cyprus, Yiannakis Beach is definitely worth making a stop at, especially if you are looking for a quieter beach where you can relax for a few hours.
