The Cyprus Statistics department has released the final figures for tourism and travel for the year 2010. The Cyprus economy depends heavily on tourism and these numbers are a good indicator of the economy.
The total number of arrivals in 2010 was 3,745,261 compared to 3,731,684 which is a small increase of 13,577 over 2009. The number of same day visitors was 277,435 an increase from 228,787 the prior year.
Tourist arrivals were 2,172,998 a 1.5% increase over 2009. The majority of arrivals were from the UK with 37% followed by Russia, Greece, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and Israel.
